This word SEEK has been at the forefront of my thoughts for many weeks. God has me at this place of learning and growing to understand what it means to be a true SEEKER of Him. It is a constant awareness that God is always with me and setting divine order to my life daily. I am learning that many truly do not understand what is to be a seeker of the Kingdom. Many seek God for their needs as they arise, many pray prayers have SElF rooted in them and many are so busy DOING that seeking is an afterthought. God is showing me that His desire for us is that we root ourselves in the place of seeking. We must daily, minute by minute, in the midst of all that is around us SEEK His will – not in order that we gain, but that His will be done. I believe He is looking for those who will lead this younger generation to this place of surrender, not focused on self, but focused on gaining His heart for the land. Matthew 6:33 says seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all things will be added unto you. What I believe God is saying here is seek me, gain my heart, and you will begin to see my purposes and plans unfold through your prayers. Our self desires are lost to the desire of Gods will to be done. We are no longer leading, He is leading and we begin to understand what Jesus so clearly understood. Jesus understood that all things apart from His father were futile and rooted in self. Our greatest challenge will be to gain the understanding that Gods heart is what we desire and self-rooted doing is not going to give us true pleasure. Our pleasure only comes when we surrender and allow God to move through usacc ording to His purposes and plans. Our young must be seekers above all else!
As we prepare for this weekend and welcome our guests to New Mexico I sense this is a time of great significance. God is cleary making His name known throughout the world. I will not dare to say I know what God is doing next, but I know He is up to something. know His desire is to restore what the enemy has stolen. I listenedto a Preacher talk about how the enemy tried to destroy a generation by killing all male children 2 and under during Herods reign, but what we have to understand with God, His plan is so far beyond what we can see. Those children died, many other children have died, but God is bringing children to the forefront for such a time as this. The young will be zealous for God, they will plant seeds, birth revival because no matter how the enemy tries to birng destruction Gods plan will always prevail. My God is a restorer of the broken, He is the creator of Heaven and Earth, He is the great redeemer and He will bring justice upon the land. Let us not think in our own small capacity, but let us be equipped with the mind of Christ. We must rise up and pour all we know into this end time army where boldness and righteousness will prevail.
Children in Prayer New Mexico is about facilitating and releasing the body of christ to a place of understanding that children and youth have a portion in the Kingdom of God. Kids need to know their God is real and alive so they can trust Him, not through a bunch of rules that say what and what not to do, but through being in His presence. God wants us to be alive in Him. In the place of prayer it engages this dynamic and creates opportunities for kids to grow in trust, love and intimacy with their Heavenly Father. I see this as not being about what we can do in our own strength, but what God can do through us when we surrender our lives to Him. I read statistics about the body of Christ and how small the number of Christians truly even understand their faith walk with God. I have raised my children to know that God is the center of our life and prayer connects us to all His desires. As they grow older its guiding them to commit their life to God and allow those principles and truths they have been taught to manifest in their daily walk with God. There will be no greater thing I will do on this earth than to surrender my life to God and pass on what I have learned to others that God gives me opportunity to speak to. Children in Prayer NM desires to allow children to get in that place with God, that their hearts are full of His love and that they are able to hear from Him and pray into those things that God shows them. We desire to see change in our region and believe as kids grow in God that He will reveal His heart through their prayers.
As we prepare to move into February I have such a sense of curiosity about the way things are shifting and changing around us in a greater way then in my life I have ever seen. The other day I saw a brief news bite on foam that had come out of the ocean and it showed a picture of this foam covering the dry ground. It looked like a large bubble bath . What rang in my heart was how our God is such a mystery and how His ways are not ours. He is revealing himself in so many ways and using horrific and tragic situations to draw His people back to Him. He is mighty and just and His will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. My heart has been heavy as I understand I am not where I want to be, but I am farther along than I use to be. Praise God! Do you hunger to move away from where you once were and realize God is calling you to the mountaintop? It is so in my heart that people would fall in love with my God. I yearn to be less so He can be more! I am not satisfied with mere christianity! I want more. Has God asked you to give it all up and could you say yes? Our busyness, our doing in the name of the Lord, our yearning to keep up with the worlds standard of success, our bitterness that we hold on to because it keeps us alive, our pride, selfish gain, our judgement on a broken world. I am perplexed by my little faith and yet challenged by the author of my life to press on and finish the good fight of faith. I am challenged to grow closer to him, that He may shine through me in the smallest circumstance to the unsermoutnable mountain that lies ahead. I live to serve my King and my hearts desire would be those who God surrounds me with would have the same yearning in their heart! Our young are precious and God are calling to them as He did to Samuel and we must set them, guide them, lead them into the promised land which is God’s presence so when He calls they hear Him and say, “speak, for your servant hears.”
As we begin a new year there is much to reflect on and prepare for as a new season is upon us. I believe God is calling those who are willing to go into new and uncharted waters out from the complexity of life into a place of simple devotion with the Father. Prayer is at the core of who we are as followers of Christ. In the place of prayer is where we gain our wisdom, knowledge and marching orders from God. It is where we learn how great His love is for us and others and where we do war over the battles we face daily in our walk with Him. I was having coffee with some great encouragers in the Lord at Starbucks and as we were talking about the struggles we faced my friend noticed the word REKINDLE on the sleeve of each cup . My friend handed the sleeve to me and it spoke to me powerfully. I knew God was saying this year is about REKINDLING what we have lost through the trials we have faced. Rekindle means to revive, renew; to relight (a fire) . My struggles faced have left me at the end of the year tired and weary. 2013 is going to be the time where all the fire will be rekindled. Praise God that He is always right on time. I pray we all will be determined to revive and renew our love for God and that we will be lead by Him daily in the place of prayer. But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not grow weary, They shall walk and not grow faint. AMEN!
We had another wonderful time of prayer on the 19th floor of the Hyatt overlooking the city. God is teaching each of us the importance of prayer and declaring over our city and state. During our prayer time for New Mexico our hearts were awakened to the needs of our region and the presence of God filled the room. God is desiring for this drought ridden region to awaken with a love for Him. The song God of our city says that God is the God of this city, the king of the people and greater things have yet to come, and greater things are still to be done in this city. 2 Chronicles 7:13-14 says; When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among my people, if my people who are called by name will humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Let us each let go of our wicked ways, humble ourselves and become great seekers of God. Let faith rise up in us as we gather together to seek God for our region.
Hello to everyone,
Blessings to you and yours as we prepare our hearts moving into a season where we give thanks for the many blessings in our lives and to celebrate the wonderful birth of the Lord Jesus Christ.
We are excited and moved with expectancy as God opens doors and opportunities to grow and move with Him in His purposes. We believe our Prayer Gatherings are a part of this. Our first meeting together brought clarity and confirmation of being in Gods perfect will. Our second gathering brought a releasing of the younger generations as we “oldies” stood back and watched intercession move through the younger generations. We believe our third gathering will be as God ordains it to be.
We look for those of you who have a heart to move in one accord with all generations present to pray and declare over our city, state and nation. This next gathering will be a focused prayer time of intercession for specific issues that plaque our state, prayer for each county to uphold biblical standards, Israel, United States and a time of prayer for individual needs.
These gatherings are not bound by denominational lines and we believe seekers of God can respect and honor the differences in the body of Christ and come together with one heart to intercede for our world. We pray that you will consider being a part as we cry out to God to heal our land.
Please contact Tanya Griego at email@example.com for specifics on the location in Albuquerque.
The room will be open at 4pm for any who would like to come in and have quiet time with the Lord prior to the set time of 6pm.
